002 - Finding Comfort in a Vulnerable New Thing with Lucille Clifton, Chrystos and Charmaine Porter
In this episode, Charmaine Porter and I read the work of Chrystos and Lucille Clifton, feeling the vulnerability that is grounded in becoming comfortable as a New Thing.
Charmaine Porter blends wor(l)ds as a poet whose manifestations both poke holes in safety seams of complacency and simmer with the beauty of existence. They express deep care, dedication and will to examine ways to heal the gaping wound across the Earth's face. They currently curate Pawtucket, RI's Mixed Magic Theatre's Rise to Black series, their own work performed in the episode "A Promise."
